Student Accommodation
Arden Street House has a small family run hostel which provides short and long term accommodation options for students, lecturers, and post-graduate students at the Otago University and Otago Polytechnic. We are a lovely 20 minute walk to both facilities.
Hostel options can include breakfast and dinner. We offer stays from 1 week to the full academic year.

"I am missing it already!"
I had a very lovely stay at Arden Street House, Joyce and Dave were incredibly welcoming and friendly. I was there for a longer time period (4 weeks) and really felt at home here. The house was charming and had lots of character! Also very convenient to walk to the University of Otago (about 20 min walk through beautiful botanical gardens!), and 30-40 min walk to town (Octagon area). 10 min walk to bus station also. I really enjoyed the social dinners, it was a great way to meet other travelers and I felt like part of the family after 4 weeks. The guest living room has a computer and TV, books, games, and DVDs available for guest use. I enjoyed watching some movies in the evening with the other guests (they have an external hard drive with LOTS of movies to choose from!) The room I stayed in was a single room that had everything I needed (drawers, hangers to hang up a few things, bookcase, and vanity/desk). Also had towels and my own hairdryer. Bathroom facilities were very nice, always clean. Really no complaints about Arden Street House! Wifi was sometimes a little slow, but I was enjoying my time in Dunedin so much it was not an issue. I would definitely recommend Arden Street House, I am missing it already!

I lived with Joyce and Dave for 4 weeks. It was such an enjoyable experience. I am very grateful that I found them on homestay. They are such warm welcoming people. The highlight of my trip there would be the meals which I opted to have every weekday. It was always filled with laughter and good conversation with other guests. They also hire the nicest people who run their BnB for them who cleaned the rooms and gave us new towels everyday. Would definitely go back. April 2016
